2011 WYOMING STATE LEGISLATIVE REPORT AVAILABLE
The Wyoming State Legislature has concluded in early March, and interim activities are in full swing, including the beginning of reapportionment. A full report was made available to members in mid-March, via the newsletter; you may view that report by clicking here.
AFFILIATION WITH NEW NATIONAL GROUP
During the recent board of directors meeting, it was decided that WABA would join the Agricultural Nutrient Policy Council. We have been participating with ANPC since its formation earlier this year, signing on to several comments that have been submitted to various federal agencies regarding plant nutrient issues. A recent blog posting on DTN regarding some of ANPC's activities can be accessed here.
NPDES Pesticide General Permit
The training sessions we sponsored along with the Wyoming Departments of Agriculture and Environmental Quality concluded with the last two session on April 7 in Riverton and Buffalo. Wyoming DEQ will be finalizing the WYPDES PGP over the next several months, and failing Congressional action to eliminate the need for these permits, will make the final general permits public in late August. IF the permits are still required as of early August, we will be offering two hours of training on the permits at the 2011 Annual Convention.

The Wyoming Agricultural Business Association (originally the Wyoming Grain, Feed and Seed Dealers Association) is a grass-roots organization helping to increase the voice of agriculture and the agriculture sales and service community in local, state and national issues.
Generally speaking, "What's good for agriculture is good for our members," and that's the effort we make.
